Located in Thanh Hóa Province, about 3 hours southwest of Hanoi, Pù Luông would live up to most people’s image of an idyllic Vietnamese landscape and rural life.

Stretching from Mai Chau to Cuc Phuong National Park, Pu Luong Nature Reserve may attract you thanks to its outstanding beauty and biodiversity along with minorities ethnic’s cultural values.

While nature has endowed this land with rich forest and limestone panoramas, it is the local’s works during thousands of year that has turned the mountain slopes to alluring terrace rice fields.

An interesting combination of natural and man-made influence makes this breathtaking scenery become an ideal choice for an amazing trip from Hanoi.

ITINERARY:

1ST DAY

THE GHOST RIDE (B, L, D)

Pick up at Hanoi Rocks Hostel and transfer to My Dinh bus station to catch the bus to Lac village , Mai Chau.

Lunch at Lac village and 1 hour free time to do some shopping around.

Get on your motorbike and enjoy the most beautiful landscape of the Northern Loop.

Don't forget to full charge your phone or camera to make sure that you will not miss any scenes on the way.

Arrive at the homestay at the beautiful and untouched Don village.

After a short break, we will visit the village, walk around, interact with the locals, take some awesome pictures and enjoy the fascinating sunset over the ricefields stretching as far as the eye can see.

We will then come back to the homestay to enjoy dinner with the local family, maybe share some stories while drinking some homemade rice-wine and chill out until bedtime.


NOTE: Those booked on the 2 Days & 1 Night experience will skip the SEVEN VILLAGES TREKKING and join the BAMBOO RAFT RACE instead.


2ND DAY

THE SEVEN VILLAGES TREKKING (B, L, D)

Gear up for a full day trekking through 7 stunning villages:

Don village + Lan village + Long village + Lac village + Huou Village + Phia Village + Du Village.

An off the beaten track experience that will take through stunning ricefield terraces, waterfalls, remote villages where Thai and H'mong minorities will welcome you to their daily lifes.

This trekk will take you to the most untouched and stunning areas of the Pu Luong Natural Reserve.

3RD DAY

THE BAMBOO RAFT RACE (B, L)

Pack up and get ready for an early (6.30am) motorbike ride to La Han village.

You will have time to enjoy unique breakfast with Vietnamese rice soup on the way.

Get on our bamboo raft and sail over the Luong river for over 2 hours.

Inmerse yourself deep into the Real Vietnam daily life and have a spectacular bamboo raft race on your way back to the pier

Back on our motorbikes we will ride back to Lac village, Mai Chau, through spectacular sceneries and small mountain villages

This completly off the beaten track experience will introduce you to the less touristy destinations in Northern Vietnam.

Please enjoy this experience but be respectful with the local ways and traditions.

Take the bus back to My Dinh bus station and transfer back to Hanoi Rocks Hostel

    If you have any allergies or special food requirements, let us know. We can have something special prepared for you.

  4. What should I bring?

    Just the essentials: Swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, shower stuff, insect repellant and change of clothes for the next few days. Remember to bring something warm for the nights during the cooler months (Dec - Apr)

  5. Can I book a bus to Sapa when I return?

    Our nightly bus to Sapa leaves at 9pm so you have more than enough time.
